We believe passionately that no matter what their background or circumstances, all young people should be afforded the same opportunities. Many young people don’t know other people doing jobs that they might be interested in, meaning they’re less likely to consider them as a viable option. We hope by connecting Shawbrook employee volunteers with this talent pool we can inspire them and instil confidence that anything is possible.
Alongside a financial donation, we are supporting Future First through providing young people with meaningful encounters with Shawbrook employee volunteers both in person and virtually to learn more about what life is like in the financial services industry.
Insight days
Recent insight days hosted by Shawbrook volunteers have supported students to take part in activities such as mock interviews, personal branding workshops and careers carousels along with hearing directly from our Thrive apprentices about what it’s really like to work in a specialist bank.
Our people have also created multiple pieces of engaging, relevant content, letting young people into their lives as professionals in the sector, talking about their personal education and professional pathway, and the choices that led them to where they are today with many also commencing secure online mentoring with students in 2023. We’re proud of this partnership which supports our purpose to power up ingenuity to create opportunity, every single day.
