Red Coast Industries acquires Premier Sealant Limited with support from Shawbrook

• Industrial investment firm, Red Coast Industries has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Scunthorpe based, Premier Sealant
• Premier is the UK’s leading supplier of core sealing products
• Shawbrook structured a multi-million-pound flexible funding package to facilitate the acquisition and support the client’s growth trajectory

Founded in 1994, Premier is a leading national manufacturer of profiled foam fillers and supplier of core sealing products used in the roofing, cladding, glazing, coldstore and maintenance sectors. After 30 years in the industry, Premier is now the UK’s leading supplier of core sealing products and has cultivated strong working relationships with the nation’s largest roofing manufacturers and contractors.

In 2018 Managing Director Stewart Morgan joined the business and he, alongside the rest of the company’s management team, have delivered a strong period of growth, something Red Coast will look to build on with their own expertise and management experience.

The full terms of the deal consist of a multi-million-pound flexible funding package which will both facilitate Red Coast’s acquisition of Premier, as well as providing working capital to the business to continue its growth trajectory. The previous owners of the company, John Burns and Peter Duffy, will be fully exiting the business. 

The two parties were introduced by Prodipta Bhattacharya, Managing Director at US Capital Global.

Shawbrook demonstrated its commitment to the deal in the early stages and were chosen as funding partners due to the appetite the team displayed for the acquisition as well as the flexible and fast-paced approach they offered. This deal marks Red Coast’s first acquisition as a business and Shawbrook’s expertise and track record of backing successful acquisitions was also a key factor.

Rob Fawke at Gunnercooke acted for Shawbrook on the deal and James Killing and Josh Davison from DSW conducted the Financial Due Diligence on the deal.
