Chief Executive Officer and Director
Steve joined Shawbrook as CEO in January 2016 from Santander UK, where he was Executive Director and Head of UK Banking, with responsibility for building its SME franchise, running the bank's Corporate, Commercial, Business and Retail Banking operations as well as Wealth Management.
Prior to joining Santander in 2008, Steve spent eight years at RBS, where he was CEO of Business Banking, Retail Markets and Managing Director of Commercial Banking and Corporate Banking, Corporate Markets.
Deputy CEO and Director, Managing Director Property
Stephen has 14 years' experience in building specialist lending businesses, across commercial and consumer lending markets in the UK. Stephen was part of the founding team at the bank and previously served again as a founding member of the management team at Commercial First, establishing a key profile in the intermediary market. He is ACA qualified and holds a BA (Hons) in Management and Business Administration from Reading University.
Managing Director, Consumer Lending
Evelyn joined Shawbrook in January 2016 from Lloyds Banking Group where she has held a number of roles since 2007, most recently as Director of Lloyds Personal Loans. Prior to this, Evelyn held senior roles at Banco Santander credit card business and at Barclays.
Managing Director, Business Development
Prior to Shawbrook, Philip was Managing Director of Commercial First Mortgages since 2003. In 2009, Philip also became Managing Director and co-founder of Link Loans Ltd, a prime secured loan lender. Prior to joining Commercial First Mortgages, Philip, a qualified banker, had been the Managing Director of First National Bank — the leading finance house and specialist lending arm of Abbey National plc. His career with First National spanned over 30 years, culminating in becoming Managing Director in 1997 and CEO in 2000.
Interim Chief Financial Officer
Dylan has extensive experience in the UK banking and finance sector. Prior to joining the Group in 2013, Dylan had spent 11 years with KPMG focused on M&A and bank resolution across the UK and European banking sector. He played a leading role in KPMG’s advice on the original Northern Rock restructure in 2009, RBS’ participation in the Asset Protection Scheme, the potential acquisition of the Lloyds TSB branches by a number of acquirers and the EU restructuring plans prepared by a large Greek lender. He has also worked for KPMG in Germany, advising the region’s largest lenders on active M&A opportunities. He is ACA qualified and holds a dual BA (Hons) in German and Business Studies from Sheffield University.
General Counsel & Company Secretary
Daniel holds a law degree from Oxford University and a Masters law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and worked in commercial private practice in the City for nine years, first with Linklaters LLP then Macfarlanes LLP. In 2004, he became the first in-house lawyer for Commercial First Mortgages Limited, joining its Board as Legal Director a year later. Daniel transferred to Shawbrook in 2011, as part of the Commercial First management team.
Chief Risk Officer
Prior to joining Shawbrook, Hugh worked in various Credit and Risk roles at GE Capital, the finance arm of General Electric Inc. He joined GE in 2003 and notable roles he performed there were the Chief Risk Officer for the Factoring and ABL Platforms in Europe, being the Chief Credit Officer of GE Capital UK, the Head of Enterprise Risk and, most recently, the Chief Risk Officer of GE Capital UK. Hugh holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and Post Graduate MSc in International Banking and Finance at Heriot Watt University.
Group HR Director
Debbie joined Shawbrook as Group HR Director in May 2016 from SocGen where she was for 5 years; latterly in the position of Head of HR for EMEA. Prior to SocGen Debbie spent time at a number of Financial Institutions including Rabobank, Commerzbank and JP Morgan. She started her career with ICI in the North East.
