James Salmon has over two decades of experience in the financial sector, as a Chartered Accountant by profession (PwC) and lender by trade. During the early 10’s James worked as a senior originator within the NatWest mid-market Leveraged Finance team, following which he became the fund manager of the Big Issue Invest Impact Fund. Joining Shawbrook in 2019, he was responsible for building out the Shawbrook Financial Sponsors business that he now leads, focusing on single lender solutions for lower-mid market Private Equity backed SMEs in the UK. Outside of work, he is a member of the Board of Trustees for Big Creative Education, serving as Vice-Chair and Chair of the Finance Committee. His expertise covers sourcing, evaluating, and executing Sponsor-backed debt capital transactions whilst managing key Sponsor relationships of the Bank.
