Mintel shines a light on Shawbrook Personal Loans

The 2019 Mintel report on unsecured loans has ranked Shawbrook highly in consumer perceptions as “competent, progressive, ethical, exclusive, and even fun, in addition to being associated with good customer service.”

The 2019 Mintel report* on unsecured loans provides an in-depth analysis supported by a range of data uncovering the past year’s biggest issues and insights including market trends, consumer needs, behaviours and perceptions and attitudes towards brands.

In this report, Shawbrook was ranked high in consumer perceptions as “competent, progressive, ethical, exclusive, and even fun, in addition to being associated with good customer service.”

It goes on to say we “have managed to build significant trust, and despite lower levels of awareness they score highly in most metrics regarding the experience of actual customers.”

The results from this analysis describes our personal loans perceived by consumers as:

  • Highly trusted and differentiated from our competitors.
  • Key performance attributes, we are perceived as having great customer service and known for treating our customers fairly.
  • In relation to our ‘brand personality’ we are described by consumers as being fun, ethical and the closest out of all brands mentioned to being ‘exclusive’.

The report also highlighted the impact our marketing and PR activities have had, calling out our Transparency Charter and FrOMO campaign which “shines a light on ‘teaser rates’”, giving us a point of difference in a competitive market with our messaging and real rate proposition.
