Shawbrook expands Yorkshire team with the recruitment of a local Relationship Director and New Business Analyst

  • Shawbrook expands their Yorkshire team with two new additions, bringing with them a further 25 years of experience to the regional team

Shawbrook Bank is responding to increasing regional demand from local businesses across Yorkshire as they welcome Relationship Director, Michael Ward, and New Business Analyst, Carey Scargill, to the team.

Alongside Regional Managing Director, Jonathan Rostron, and the Yorkshire team, Michael will work with business owners, their management teams and advisers to provide a range of flexible funding options including structured debt, asset-based lending, asset finance and commercial mortgages.

Supporting Michael and the wider team will be the team’s New Business Analyst, Carey Scargill. Carey comes with a strong background in banking and finance and will use this to support the team, particularly with the funding and on-boarding of new clients to Shawbrook.

Jonathan Rostron, Regional Managing Director for the Yorkshire Team says,

“We have enjoyed significant success in the region as businesses recognise Shawbrook as the specialist SME lender of choice - it is therefore important that we have the right people in place to support local SMEs with their finance needs. With Michael and Carey coming onboard, we can further improve the service that we offer to our clients, as well as engage with new businesses in the region who require our support. Michael is specifically tasked with developing our presence in Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford and surrounding areas.”

Michael Ward, Relationship Director for the North East Team says,

“I am delighted to join the team at Shawbrook and look forward to the opportunity of putting some great funding solutions together for businesses in the West of West Yorkshire. Shawbrook has considerable flexibility in approach which means we can deliver the right outcome for the customer and their professional advisors.”

Carey Scargill, New Business Analyst for the North East Team says,

“The approach that Shawbrook has to its people is what really attracted me to the bank – people are seen as the ‘life force’ of the business and I am starting to really experience that as I get more involved. The focus on people doesn’t just apply internally but also to our clients and I am excited to get to work with some of the individuals who are driving their businesses forward.”
